I am sure you’ve heard of it, gouty arthritis affects a large part of the demographic who like drinking beer and eating red meat. However, to be exact, eating a lot of seafood, red meat, and alcoholic beverages are all exacerbating factors in this disease. Its cause is due to the accumulation of uric acid crystals in joints, especially big toes, causing pain from inflammation.

我諗香港有唔小人都聽過痛風,因為現代人多肉多酒的飲食習慣大幅增加了患病的風險。而咁的飲食習慣都會令到我地關節入面積左啲尿酸鹽結晶,導致我地關節發炎,引致痛楚。

 

Risk Factor | 風險

Overweight. Diabetes. Hypertension. Kidney disease. Eating a lot of red meat and seafood. Drinking alcoholic beverages.

過重。糖尿病。高血壓。腎病。經常食用紅肉及海產。經常飲用酒精飲品。

 

Prevention | 預防

Limit consumption of high purine food and drinks. Drink plenty of water. Regular exercise. Reduce weight if overweight.

減小食用高嘌呤食物。飲多啲水。多運動。過重人仕減重

Chicken is not a red meat, and it is quite a good alternative to red meat, which contains a lot of purine.

雞係一個對於想食小啲紅肉一個好選擇,佢嘌呤的成份比牛肉等小。
